Violetta bursts through the door delivering a vicious, but comical, caning to Gian Carlo, “You wretched worm, to willfully deceive me!!” As she sings, Mozart’s “Queen of the Nights” aria becomes a fast paced rock ballad. Felicia recognizes that Ralph was spying on her and is upset and offended. Violetta is broken-hearted. In a show of solidarity the two women exit together, Felicia pushing Violetta’s wheelchair, while the confused men are left behind center stage.
